With a career of working in the many fields of new home build and renovation, Steve brings you a working understanding of your home's energy and the return on investment needs.
Steve's experience ranges from real estate sales through to design and build projects, and home automation, along with solar PV and battery storage installations. His ability to understand a home's energy and living requirements gives his customers an edge in the market when it comes to self-generation, time of use of appliances, energy storage, cheaper ongoing hot water solutions, and home heating options.

On top of his extensive knowledge, his ability to understand and to demonstrate the right solution for you and what you desire for your home energy solution, will allow you to make the right decision for your own home project.

Dana is passionate about clean renewable energy technologies and has pioneered the integration of innovative energy efficiency products for homes and businesses since 2005 in NZ. He is an advocate of the establishment of distributed energy systems and increased community resilience, and has a focus upon lowering the financial barriers for New Zealanders who wish to take charge of their energy needs.

Having introduced the solar compatible Aquarian range of heat pump water heaters into NZ in 2013, he and his team are now launching their latest product, the all-in-one solar power and battery storage system -- the latest in solar system development, exclusive to Energy Alternatives.

Ben is a Dutch mechanical-electrical engineer and a 500-Ton Ships Master who had been living on his 70-foot Lidgard ketch with his partner Ari Vanderschoot, until they arrived in New Zealand in 2020. When the couple discovered the friendly island of Waiheke, they decided to ‘swallow the anchor’ and move to shore.
In the Netherlands and Germany, Ben was working as project manager for Atama Solar Energy. In Portugal he started his own Solar company, gaining a lot of experience installing renewable energy solutions: Solar Electric, Solar Thermal, Hydro and Integrated Under Floor Heating.
With his personal experience of life at sea, and living with solar and wind-generated energy, Ben will be able to find the most efficient system for your home and/or business.

Silke, who joined our team in April 2022, is originally from Germany. Her career was in languages, law, and management. Over here in New Zealand her journey in the work environment took her through different work fields mainly in management. While bringing up a family she was running her own company for many years making good use of her language and organisational skills.
Being passionate about the place that has become her and her family’s home Silke is actively involved in her community.
Since she arrived on Waiheke Island in 2003, she has seen a lot of change. One of them is the Island moving towards a clean future. Now she is looking forward to bringing in her work experience and skills gained in Germany and New Zealand into the promising area of sustainable energy.
